After a sold out premiere in Aberdeen, the Award-winning film You've Been Trumped  has been held over for another big weekend at the Belmont Picturehouse Aberdeen in a move that is 'unprecedented' according to cinema bosses.

"Following the unprecedented demand for tickets for the sell out Green Carpet Premiere and the follow up screening, The Belmont is delighted to be holding three further screenings of You've Been Trumped.  We have been delighted with the amazing response to this very topical film and are very pleased to have been able to bring the film to the Aberdeen audience," said Emily Richardson, Film Programmer for Picturehouse Cinemas.

Those who were turned away from the Premiere will get three more chances to see the film that The Times has called “a runaway success”  and which, according to the Hollywood Reporter, may have cut short Donald Trump's Presidential Run.

The additional screenings are:

Friday 24 June at 6.30pm

Saturday 25 June at 1.45pm

Sunday 26 June at 6.30pm

You've Been Trumped won the coveted Green Award earlier this month at Doc/Fest, the UK's largest and most important documentary festival.  The international jury lauded the film for exposing “one of the worst environmental crimes of recent UK History.”

The Trump Organisation recently called filmmaker Anthony Baxter “a fraud”, and the film "a failure".  Mr Trump was at the Menie estate today to play one of the golf holes built on the formerly protected conservation site.  Mr Trump has been invited to a special US preview of the film 7 July in New York at the IFC Centre in Manhattan.

“If Mr Trump can't stay in Aberdeen then we are happy to invite him to  the screening in New York,” said Director Anthony Baxter.

Baxter was locked up in an Aberdeen jail cell – less than half a mile from the Belmont Picturehouse - during the making of You've Been Trumped.  Footage of the arrest by Grampian Police, which has been condemned by the National Union of Journalists, is being shown in Scotland for the first time. ,   (Criminal charges of Breach of the Peace were eventually dropped, and the arrest was the subject of a complaint by the National Union of Journalists. Baxter's  camera and footage was also impounded by police for almost a week.)

According to the Scottish Documentary Institute, You've Been Trumped is a rare example of a Scottish documentary film, set entirely in Scotland,  being released in cinemas theatrically.

You've Been Trumped will be screened at Glasgow Film Theatre on 13 July and at Edinburgh's Cameo Cinema on 14 July, both presented by Take One Action.  The film will also headline the EdinDocs film festival in September and have its London premiere that same month.

You've Been Trumped documents a year in the life of the controversial Donald Trump luxury golf course development north of Aberdeen, on a former conservation site of Special Scientific Interest.
